This foundational module equips men to pursue biblical manhood by anchoring their lives in spiritual priorities and daily disciplines. Through Scripture, case studies, and practical exercises, participants explore servant leadership, consistent prayer and Bible study, and the process of overcoming spiritual strongholds. With David and Samson as key examples, the course challenges men to grow in character, accountability, and intimacy with God—laying the groundwork for lasting transformation.

Spiritual Foundation – Building a Godly Man

Key Verse: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will
be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33, ESV)

Introduction

The journey toward biblical manhood must begin with a clear understanding of spiritual priorities and the development of consistent spiritual disciplines. This opening track establishes the theological foundation for the entire course by examining what it means to be a man after God’s own heart and by providing practical guidance for developing the spiritual habits that sustain long-term growth in godliness.

The choice of Matthew 6:33 as the key verse for this track is deliberate and significant. In the context of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus addresses the universal human tendency to worry about material needs and earthly concerns. Rather than dismissing these concerns as unimportant, Jesus acknowledges their reality while redirecting his followers’ attention to the proper ordering of priorities. The promise that “all these things will be added” does not
guarantee material prosperity, but it does assure believers that God will provide what they need when they maintain proper spiritual priorities.

This principle of seeking first God’s kingdom and righteousness serves as the organising principle for the entire course. Every subsequent topic—financial stewardship, physical health, biblical masculinity, purity, leadership, and legacy—must be understood and pursued within the framework of kingdom priorities. A man who attempts to address these areas without first establishing a solid spiritual foundation will find himself building on shifting sand rather than solid rock.
